For the past long months it has been heat, exhaustion, tension and stress. Finally you are home. It's hard to transition and leave it behind you. Some you never will. But we are here to tell you thank you. We may never know all that you have seen and lived. But, we don't have to. You went you served and now we are here to tell you thank you.
You are not alone. You are back to us, you are ours and we will not forget. You have our respect and have earned your honor. Things we can acknowledge, but are yours by the sweat and blood you shed.
We were able to meet and welcome home some of the wounded warriors of the 1st Squadron of the 221st Armored Cavalry, and the 1864th Medium Transportation Company of the Nevada Army National Guard. These warriors gave of there bodies and blood for us. They have earned the honor. We merely acknowledge what is already theirs.
