Our fantastic friends at VFW Post 1602 in Batavia gave Moms Love Quilts our first opportunity to reach out from Las Vegas. Bob and Diane Clark worked with us to provide 20 quilts each on Memorial Day and Veterans Day of 2009. These quilts went to the VA Hospital and the extended care facility in Batavia.
They showed us how impotant it is to reach out if we are to be able to find those we wish to honor. Without their help we could never have located these deserving warriors let alone be able to offer our respect.
The men and women in the photos are some of the veterans in Batavia. 3 wars and they still step up and give of their hearts, souls, blood and very lives. Theirs is the honor they earned. We can never take away from it, nor add to it. But we must, at the price of our liberty and freedom, recognize this or we will fritter away the gift they have given us.
