The Civil Air Patrol

The Civil Air Patrol is an organization not well known outside the aviation community.  But the accomplishments of this organization are numerous and exemplary.  The CAP is a Congressionally chartered, non profit, volunteer organization.  It is the civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force.

They perform duties such as search and rescue in the case of missing and downed aircraft, aerospace education of our youth, assist the Deptartment of Homeland Security, many other emergency services in support of law enforcement and other service organizations.

CAP cadets (members age 11 to 20) have been a wonderful support for Moms Love Quilts.  They have assisted in military ceremonies, presentations of quilts and education about our military.  Their support has made the project more responsive and more memorable to those we honor.  They are a group of young people  that give hope to the rest of us that the upcoming generation can and will continue to build and protect this nation.
