Quilts for Veterans

TOGETHER WE MAKE ONE

Our society, in fact all human societies, are more than the sum of their parts. Today, this concept is more important than ever before. Moms Love Quilts is to both facilitate and to promote this fact. We are a means of bringing our people and our protectors together into a bond that over the years has been weakend.

There is an unwritten social contract between the two groups. You will not find this written in paper and ink that has legal standing. But the power is greater than any lawyer can forge. It is the power to create a functioning unit that fosters healthy growth and security. Our citizens create, build, grow and produce. But this can only happen when they are not threatened or injured. Our protectors provide this security. Together we grow and evolve beyond what either group is capable of without the other.

Tragically, over the years, this fact has been lost. Moms Love Quilts is dedicated to educating our people to their obigations under this contract and then giving them a means of fulfilling them. We are getting the message out to the people that our veterans have already paid their dues. Their pain, sacrifices and even lives have been given in their service. Now the people must complete the contract.

Moms Love Quilts gives the people the means of recognizing the contract and expressing their appreciation, gratitude and respect to the veterans.
Irene begins the process by seeking out opportunities for the people to become involved in making the quilts and then acting as a conduit to providing these quilts to our Veterans. Yes, it would be so much easier if she made the quilts herself and then donated them to the closest veterans hospital. But that would not be part of the contract. Without the rest of our citizens the contract will never be fulfilled. Irene gathers people together and involves them in making the quilts.

The quilts themselves are but ink and cloth. The soul of the quilts is the names of the people and our veterans, serving and past service, placed on the quilts. The prayers and well wishes from our citizens and the acknowledgements from our troops complete the circle. This is the heart of Moms Love Quilts. This is how the parts are merged to make a whole greater than the two parts.    

Moms Love Quilts is meant to be a community involved effort.  below is some of the most frequently encountered concerns of people who would like to assist and participate. 

• Moms Love Quilts is a non profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Nevada.
• We do not now, never have, and never will seek nor accept any compensation, fees, honorariums or other form of compensation from those to whom we donate quilts.  They are expressions of appreciation, honor, recognition and love for our veterans, military, protectors and warriors.  They have already paid in blood sweat and tears.
• We do seek the support of our nation and our community.  We are looking for deserving recipients, networking opportunities, and events we can attend to gather the sentiments and love of our citizens, young and old. 
• We will accept donations of fabric, material, paints, supplies, monetary gifts and all other resources to be used to create and distribute these articles of love to the ultimate recipients.
• We are purely apolitical in our project.  We do not and will not allow politics to sully the pure intent of honoring our veterans.  We will not support any political agenda, position, ideology or program. 

Moms Love Quilts is meant to be a means of helping our nation and community show the love and appreciation we hold for our heroes and to allow the healing of unseen wounds they suffred begin.
